This program of Allston Brighton CDC provides unbiased and objective education and counseling for thousands of first-time homebuyers. Join us for Homebuying 101 or take The Road Home, our online course. Let us help you to buy your first home safely and securely.
We buy homes and sell them to people who want to live in Lower Allston and North Brighton. We strive to preserve homeownership through owner occupancy and to grow and support strong, healthy, vibrant neighborhoods.
“Compared to the open real estate market the process was so much more comfortable. I likely wouldn’t have had this opportunity to live in this neighborhood otherwise. It has meant a lot to me to find a place close to where my son goes to college.” -ABH Buyer
Working for safe, decent, and affordable housing is an integral part of the Allston Brighton CDCs mission. Since 1980, the CDC has developed over 500 homes for low- and moderate-income renters and first-time homebuyers. Today, we are focused expanding opportunity to stable housing in a neighborhood of high rents and limited homeownership opportunities.
To build a stronger community, we mobilize and support new voices for community leadership, working with neighbors of all backgrounds to make Allston Brighton a stronger and better place to live. We are also increasing neighborhood stability by strengthening institutional and community partnerships.
Every year on September 1st, staff and volunteers canvas Allston, providing welcome packets with information on being a good neighbor, tenant rights and responsibilities, and community resources to thousands of students as they move back into the neighborhood.
The CITC provides a 50% state refundable tax credit when you make a donation to Allston Brighton CDC.
Your individual net donation of $325 equals $2,000 of funding to supporting neighborhood stabilization! **See New Balance Match for more information.
The Allston Brighton CDC builds a stronger and more stable community by representing and supporting the expressed interests, positive engagement and leadership of Allston Brightons diverse local communities, institutions, individuals, and families of all incomes.
