Allston Brighton CDC is partnering with Santander and Brookline Bank to provide our Homebuying 101 course at the Brighton Branch of the Boston Public Library.

The class will be held on the following dates:
Saturday, September 21st @ 11-3:30 PM
Saturday, September 28th @ 11-3:30 PM

Homebuying 101 is a 9-hour course, covered over 2 or 3 sessions. Topics covered include:

• Budgeting, Savings & Credit
• Obtaining a Mortgage
• Housing Search
• The Legal Aspects of Buying a Home
• Home Inspection
• Home Insurance
• Down Payment Assistance Programs

Graduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to downpayment assistance, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage, MassHousing mortgages, HUD mortgages, home ownership lotteries, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 3 years.

Registration for the class is $50/person for non-Boston residents and $25/person for City of Boston residents.  By registering for the class, you are registering for two (2) sessions. You must attend both sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion. By taking this class you also have access to unlimited one-on-one pre-purchase counseling sessions at Allston Brighton CDC to assist you through your personal homebuying experience.

A person attending an ABCDC event who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the event organizers or contact ABCDC directly.
