SUMMARY:April 2026 Homebuying 101 (BHC & Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Allston Brighton CDC is partnering with the Boston Home Center to host a virtual Homebuying 101 class on the following dates: \nTuesday\, April 21st @ 5-8PM\nThursday\, April 23rd @ 5-8PM\nTuesday\, April 28th @ 5-8PM \nEach class will take place over Zoom.  \nFunding for these services is provided by the City of Boston through its Department of Neighborhood Development\, Michelle Wu\, Mayor\, Sheila A. Dillon\, Chief and Director. Classes designated as Boston Home Center are classes targeted towards City of Boston residents\, although anyone can register for these classes. They will include presentations and information regarding Boston-specific homebuying programs\, in addition to the standard content presented in every Homebuying 101 class. Fees for Boston Home Center classes are $30 per person or $45 per couple.  \nHomebuying 101 is a 9-hour course\, covered over 3 sessions. Topics covered include: \n\nBudgeting\, Savings & Credit\nObtaining a Mortgage\nHousing Search\nThe Legal Aspects of Buying a Home\nHome Inspection\nHome Insurance\nDown Payment Assistance Programs\n\nGraduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to down payment assistance\, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage\, MassHousing mortgages\, HUD mortgages\, home ownership lotteries\, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 2 years with an option to renew for an additional year. \nYou must attend all three sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion. By taking this class\, you also have access to unlimited one-on-one pre-purchase counseling sessions at Allston Brighton CDC to assist you through your personal homebuying experience. \n\n    \n    \n    \n    \n        \n\n    \n\n    \n    \n    \n    \n    \n\n\n\n    \n            \n          \n\n          \n          ABCDC is not running any upcoming Boston Home Center (BHC) classes.
