DESCRIPTION:The Allston Brighton Homebuyer Program is a down payment and closing cost assistance program that enhances the assistance available to eligible households purchasing a property in the neighborhoods of Allston or Brighton. The program is administered by the Boston Home Center and marketed by the Allston Brighton CDC. It provides up to $50\,000 of assistance to help households overcome the potential barriers to homeownership that a down payment and closing costs can often create. DESCRIPTION:Allston Brighton CDC is partnering with the Boston Home Center to host a virtual Homebuying 101 class on the following dates: \nTuesday\, April 12th @ 5-8 PM\nWednesday\, April 13th @ 5-8 PM\nThursday\, April 14th @ 5-8 PM \nEach class will be a Zoom Webinar.  \nFunding for these services is provided by the City of Boston through its Department of Neighborhood Development\, Michelle Wu\, Mayor\, Sheila A. Dillon\, Chief and Director. Classes designated as Boston Home Center are classes targeted towards City of Boston residents\, although anyone can register for these classes. They will include presentations and information regarding Boston-specific homebuying programs\, in addition to the standard content presented in every Homebuying 101 class. Fees for Boston Home Center classes are $30 per City of Boston resident and $45 per non-resident. \nHomebuying 101 is a 9-hour course\, covered over 3 sessions. Topics covered include: \n\nBudgeting\, Savings & Credit\nObtaining a Mortgage\nHousing Search\nThe Legal Aspects of Buying a Home\nHome Inspection\nHome Insurance\nDown Payment Assistance Programs\n\nGraduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to down payment assistance\, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage\, MassHousing mortgages\, HUD mortgages\, home ownership lotteries\, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 3 years. \nYou must attend all three sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion. By taking this class you also have access to unlimited one-on-one pre-purchase counseling sessions at Allston Brighton CDC to assist you through your personal homebuying experience. \n\n    \n    \n    \n    \n        \n\n    \n\n    \n    \n    \n    \n    \n\n\n\n    \n    \n\n\n\n\n Allston\nBrighton Community Development Corporation (ABCDC) is a HUD-approved\, nonprofit housing\ncounseling agency. ABCDC offers financial and educational resources which enable\nlow- and moderate-income people from Allston Brighton\, Greater Boston and\nbeyond to purchase homes. The Homeownership & Counseling Programs have a Seal\nof Approval from CHAPA’s Homeownership Collaborative\, a collaboration of\nnon-profit homebuyer counseling agencies\, lending institutions\, real estate\nprofessionals\, government officials\, and other key players in the homeownership\nindustry in Massachusetts.  \n\n  \n\nHomebuying\n101 is a 9+ hour course that covers the entire home buying process from\nbeginning to end. The course provides a valuable educational opportunity for\nparticipants to learn about the homebuying process and the financial and legal\nresponsibilities associated with owning a home. Participants receive expert\nadvice on the things you need to know from trusted real estate professionals as\nwe take you through each step of the process. DESCRIPTION:The Allston Brighton Homebuyer Program is a down payment and closing cost assistance program that enhances the assistance available to eligible households purchasing a property in the neighborhoods of Allston or Brighton. The program is administered by the Boston Home Center and marketed by the Allston Brighton CDC. It provides up to $50\,000 of assistance to help households overcome the potential barriers to homeownership that a down payment and closing costs can often create. DESCRIPTION:Allston Brighton CDC is holding a virtual Homebuying 101 class on the following dates: \nTuesday\, July 5 @ 5-8 PM\nWednesday\, July 6 @ 5-8 PM\nThursday\, July 7 @ 5-8 PM \nEach class will be a Zoom Webinar.  \nThis class is sponsored by the Allston Brighton Homeowner Fund\, and is offered first and foremost for current residents of Allston and Brighton\, although any resident of Massachusetts is welcome to register. As such\, the Allston Brighton Homeownership Program will be covered in more depth in addition to the standard Homebuying 101 curriculum. \nHomebuying 101 is a 9-hour course\, covered over 3 sessions. Topics covered include: \n\nBudgeting\, Savings & Credit\nObtaining a Mortgage\nHousing Search\nThe Legal Aspects of Buying a Home\nHome Inspection\nHome Insurance\nDown Payment Assistance Programs\n\nGraduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to down payment assistance\, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage\, MassHousing mortgages\, HUD mortgages\, home ownership lotteries\, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 3 years. \nRegistration for the class is $50/person. By registering for the class\, you are registering for three (3) sessions. You must attend all three sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion. The Homeownership & Counseling Programs have a Seal\nof Approval from CHAPA’s Homeownership Collaborative\, a collaboration of\nnon-profit homebuyer counseling agencies\, lending institutions\, real estate\nprofessionals\, government officials\, and other key players in the homeownership\nindustry in Massachusetts.  \n\n  \n\nHomebuying\n101 is a 9+ hour course that covers the entire home buying process from\nbeginning to end. The course provides a valuable educational opportunity for\nparticipants to learn about the homebuying process and the financial and legal\nresponsibilities associated with owning a home. Participants receive expert\nadvice on the things you need to know from trusted real estate professionals as\nwe take you through each step of the process. DESCRIPTION:The Allston Brighton Homebuyer Program is a down payment and closing cost assistance program that enhances the assistance available to eligible households purchasing a property in the neighborhoods of Allston or Brighton. The program is administered by the Boston Home Center and marketed by the Allston Brighton CDC. It provides up to $50\,000 of assistance to help households overcome the potential barriers to homeownership that a down payment and closing costs can often create. Topics covered include: \n\nBudgeting\, Savings & Credit\nObtaining a Mortgage\nHousing Search\nThe Legal Aspects of Buying a Home\nHome Inspection\nHome Insurance\nDown Payment Assistance Programs\n\nGraduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to down payment assistance\, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage\, MassHousing mortgages\, HUD mortgages\, home ownership lotteries\, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 3 years. \nRegistration for the class is $50/person. DESCRIPTION:This workshop goes in-depth into the assistance programs available in Massachusetts to help first time homebuyers purchase a home. Answers to questions such as what programs are available\, who is eligible\, how to apply for and layer programs will be explored. This is an expanded discussion of the landscape of homebuying assistance in Massachusetts and anyone is welcome to attend\, whether or not you’ve already graduated from a first-time homebuyer class.
