We are excited to announce our new Board President, Dr. Kwasi Agbleke. Kwasi is an Imaging Specialist at Harvard University where he trains students and postdoctoral fellows on microscopy and imaging analysis. In the past decade, he conducted genetic research on chromosome organization, mentored and reviewed students’ research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and developed novel biophysical assays.
Kwasi’s passion is to foster economic growth within the community he lives in. He has been a member of Habitat for Humanity where he has worked on new building projects. He is also an ardent believer in education as a source of progress. He is involved in a global matching platform, TalkCoast, to connect professionals to educational institutions in underserved communities and the founder of Sena Institute of Technology, a private institute in Ghana, to build research capacity in the Sciences, Technology, and Arts.
Kwasi has been a valued Board member of ABCDC over the past year and a resident of the Allston community for eight years. He loves the Allston Brighton community and he’s happy to see new urban development projects, parks, and community engagement spaces in the area. He is a member of the Governance and Finance Committees where he actively participates and provides support to ABCDC’s financial structure.
As the incoming President, he hopes to see more Allston Brighton residents engage with ABCDC through event participation and involvement in the ABCDC Board and Action Committees. He believes that as we share our experiences and provide feedback to developmental projects in the area, we can strengthen the bond among us while providing equitable opportunities for economic and social growth.
We would like to thank our previous Board President, Amelia Youngstrom, for all of her hard work and leadership over the past year and a half. While Amelia recently moved away from the neighborhood, we know she will continue to be a valued member of Allston Brighton CDC!
