Leadership Development Academy Graduation
Ten residents of Allston Brighton graduated from our Leadership Development Academy (LDA) last week and we couldn’t be more proud – congrats grads! Many of these residents serve on resident councils and tenant boards, including the Commonville Tenant Council and Commonwealth Tenant Association, and are motivated to build their skill sets and become the best leaders they can be.
Workshop sessions focused on asset mapping, team building, and utilizing individual and collective voices to bring about change within the community. Residents received certificates in recognition of their achievements and commitments to positive neighborhood change.
Resident Spotlight: Arthur
Arthur’s peers from his LDA cohort refer to him as selfless, understanding, and a great leader. He’s overcome significant personal challenges and consistently gives back to his community through Allston Brighton CDC, his local church, and progressive neighborhood organizations as well. We can always count on Arthur to lend a hand during fundraising events, committee meetings, and resident celebrations. He’s lived here since 2007 and, in that time, has become a both a welcome and welcoming presence in the Allston Brighton community. We can’t thank Arthur enough for his engagement and leadership!
Thank You, PrimeLending!
We are so grateful to PrimeLending for supporting the work of Allston Brighton CDC. Last week, Ken and Deanna stopped by and dropped off a generous contribution, which will ensure thousands of Allston Brighton residents can benefit from increased neighborhood stability and access to the tools to shape the lives they want for themselves.
