The Allston Brighton CDC’s Community Engagement program is helping to build a stronger and more stable community by supporting community-identified and led-strategies that create and foster a healthy, diverse and stable neighborhood. We do this by engaging residents throughout the neighborhood living in, or outside, of the housing in our portfolio, growing a diverse voice that includes hundreds of community members in conversations that address the community impact of institutional expansion, transient populations, and the rise of investor absentee landlords.

Rising Rents, Closing Doors
ABCDC revisited the Rising Rents, Closing Doors report that was originally published back in 1999 to assess the housing market in our neighborhood. Now 20 years later, the price of housing in Allston Brighton is more expensive than ever.
Programs & Committees
Our community building and engagement work supports strategies – led and identified by community members – that foster a strong, stable neighborhood. We engage and support residents throughout Allston Brighton to build a voice that includes hundreds of community members, with diverse backgrounds and interests, in conversations about the impact of institutional expansion, a growing shortage of affordable rental and homeownership opportunities, and the rise of absentee and investor property owners.
Get involved through one of our three volunteer workgroups – the Affordable Housing Action Committee, Neighborhood Stabilization Action Committee, and Community Planning Committee – or our Leadership Development Academy, a multi-week leadership training opportunity for Allston Brighton residents.
