The Ray Dooley Apartments were opened over 10 years ago. Long Glen Rental I, or the Ray Dooley Apartments, is a 59-unit building that was converted from market-rate to affordable rentals back in 2006. The building received its namesake from a founding member of the ABCDC and the aid of former mayor Ray Flynn. Ray Dooley was also responsible for the creation of Boston’s Neighborhood Housing Trust and the implementation of Boston’s successful housing linkage program that has helped to create more than 7,650 affordable homes in more than 20 years.
