September Homebuying 101 (Virtual)

Allston Brighton CDC is partnering with Metro Credit Union to hold a virtual Homebuying 101 class on the following dates:
Tuesday, September 15th @ 5-8PM
Wednesday, September 16th @ 5-8PM
Thursday, September 17th @ 5-8PM
Each class will be held on Zoom.
Homebuying 101 is a 9-hour course, covered over 3 sessions. Topics covered include:
- Budgeting, Savings & Credit
- Obtaining a Mortgage
- Housing Search
- The Legal Aspects of Buying a Home
- Home Inspection
- Home Insurance
- Down Payment Assistance Programs
Graduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to down payment assistance, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage, MassHousing mortgages, HUD mortgages, home ownership lotteries, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 2 years with an option to renew for 1 additional year.
Registration for the class is $50/person. By registering for the class, you are registering for three (3) sessions. You must attend all three sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion. By taking this class, you also have access to unlimited one-on-one pre-purchase counseling sessions at Allston Brighton CDC to assist you through your personal homebuying experience.
As of November 25th, 2025, ABCDC is not offering refunds for our homebuying classes. We are happy to transfer you to a later class date or transition your registration to Framework Online if you can no longer make class. Thank you for your understanding.
