Are you a senior in Allston Brighton struggling to maintain your property? Are you looking to downsize or move to a more accessible home with an elevator? Allston Brighton CDC may be able to help!

 

ABCDC is building Allston Housing at the Hill, an affordable, senior independent living apartment in Lower Allston. When construction nears completion, we will be providing free housing application support for Allston Brighton seniors who are interested in applying for affordable housing.

Allston Housing at the Hill Project Description

Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation (ABCDC) purchased the historic Hill Memorial Baptist Church site located at 283 North Harvard Street, Allston, at the end of 2023 using funds made available by the City of Boston. The site will be transformed into a 49-unit affordable elderly housing development that connects residents to the supportive services offered in the adaptive reuse and historic preservation of the Hill Memorial Baptist Church.

The renovated Hill Memorial Baptist Church structure will feature shared amenities, including:

  • Community room
  • Fitness room
  • Kitchen
  • Library
  • Counseling suites
  • Offices for staff
Key Features of Allston Housing at the Hill
  • Sustainable Design: Pursuing Passive House Certification with high energy efficiency design and Energy Star appliances 
  • Parking: 15 above-ground parking spots, including 2 handicapped-accessible spots 
  • Community Space: Preserved church space will provide a community room, library, fitness room, dining area, private consultation rooms for supportive services, etc. 
  • Open Space: Landscaped open space, including a 2500 square foot internal courtyard 
  • Fully Accessible: 7 fully accessible units, 4 additional units for individuals with sensory impairments, two elevators, all common spaces will be fully accessible
