The Allston Civic Association (ACA) recently announced that our Executive Director, John Woods, was awarded this year’s 2025 Joseph M. Smith Community Service Lifetime Achievement Award! The award is named after Joseph M. Smith, a legendary community activist and organizer, who co-founded the ACA back in 1962.

John’s dedication to creating more affordable homes for all, along with his creativity, pragmatism, and positivity, have allowed him to make a profound impact on the neighborhood, and the culture of Allston Brighton CDC. We would like to thank the ACA for this acknowledgment and also congratulate John on this much-deserved award!
