Allston Brighton Community Development Corporation

Working together, building community

Dear friends,

This Giving Tuesday, I know I am thankful for the amazing supporters who have helped us make 2024 a year of progress in Allston Brighton. Without this strong community full of organizations, neighborhood leaders, and elected officials, ABCDC would not be able to accomplish nearly as much work as we have been able to this year.

This year, we have continued to ramp up our focus on Deep Energy Retrofits, or DERs. We were able to finish construction on our first DER at Carol Avenue and the property now features 33 fully rehabilitated units which are home to nearly 80 residents. Carol Ave. is now 100% fossil fuel-free and we were able to reduce energy usage at the property by nearly 54%! All of these changes will provide a healthier and more comfortable environment for residents.

Now more than ever, it is important that we all make a commitment to not only creating more affordable homes for our community, but also ensuring that these homes are healthy, safe, and green! This year, I hope you will consider donating to support our commitment to decarbonizing our entire affordable housing portfolio by 2040, 10 years before the City of Boston’s goal of achieving net zero emissions in all its existing buildings. A donation to Allston Brighton CDC is an investment in climate ready housing to help ensure the health of the planet, our residents, and future generations. Thank you for all that you do to make Allston Brighton great!

With best wishes and sincere gratitude,

John Woods
Executive Director
