Allston Brighton CDC is partnering with Chase Bank and Rockland Trust to provide our Homebuying 101 course at the Brighton Marine Health Center.

The class will be held on the following dates:

• Tuesday, February 4th @ 6-9:15 PM
• Thursday, February 6th @ 6-9:15 PM
• Monday, February 10th @ 6-9:15

Homebuying 101 is a 9-hour course, covered over 3 sessions. Topics covered include:

• Budgeting, Savings & Credit
• Obtaining a Mortgage
• Housing Search
• The Legal Aspects of Buying a Home
• Home Inspection
• Home Insurance
• Down Payment Assistance Programs

Graduates of this course receive a certificate that grants access to down payment assistance, Mass Housing Partnership’s ONE Mortgage, MassHousing mortgages, HUD mortgages, home ownership lotteries, and lender first time homebuyer mortgages. The certificate is accepted statewide for first time homebuyer education and is valid for 3 years.

Registration for the class is $45/person for non-Boston residents and $30/person for City of Boston residents.  By registering for the class, you are registering for all three (3) sessions. You must attend all three sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion. By taking this class you also have access to unlimited one-on-one pre-purchase counseling sessions at Allston Brighton CDC to assist you through your personal homebuying experience.
