We are extremely excited to announce that ABCDC received another allocation of Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC) from the State of Massachusetts! CITC donations have proved pivotal in ensuring that ABCDC can continue our important work towards creating a stronger, and more stable community. These donations allow our contributors to double the impact of their donations to support Allston Brighton.
“As more and more of our affordable housing projects move to the construction phase, the CITC program proves to be instrumental in providing pivotal funding to support projects like the Allston Senior Housing at the Hill development,” said Executive Director, John Woods. “Thanks to incredible work of the Real Estate Development Team, ABCDC is on the precipice of creating and preserving nearly 150 units of deeply affordable homes in Allston Brighton. Thanks to the CITC program, our supporters who care so much about this neighborhood can support this work, while also receiving the benefit of a 50% tax credit. We truly appreciate the support of everyone who has donated through this program in the past, and we are so pleased that our credit allocation was increased this year so we can continue pushing our work forward!”
What is CITC?
The Community Investment Tax Program is designed to inspire giving to Community Development Corporations. CITC donations provide you with a 50% tax credit through the State of Massachusetts, even if you do not owe any income taxes. That means that you or your company can make a $1,000 impact on Allston Brighton CDC while only spending $500!
What does a CITC donation support?
A CITC Donation supports the development of high-quality affordable housing, first-time homebuyer education, resident services, and community engagement in Allston Brighton! Our CITC supporters enabled ABCDC to impact the lives of over 3,000 residents in 2023 and reach exciting milestones including;
- Completing construction on the Deep Energy Retrofit (DER) at Hano Homes in Allston and reducing energy usage at the property by over 80%!
Offering high-quality education and counseling to over 1,000 first-time homebuyers - Providing case management services and engaging on-site services to over 700 residents at the All Bright Community Center.
