Construction at Brian J. Honan continues to progress! In early March, residents from Building G were able to move back into their rehabbed units. Residents were greeted by updated heating and cooling systems, exterior doors, windows, a fresh coat of paint, and select interior upgrades. The construction team also completed interior repairs to Building F in April. The team at Haycon is continuing to work on the insulation and siding of Buildings G and F, which is an important piece of the Deep Energy Retrofit (DER) scope. The new super insulated envelope will drastically reduce heating and cooling demand and will increase thermal comfort for residents. Construction on Building G is expected to be completed in June.
Haycon also started work on construction at Building J after residents were relocated. The team is now working to replace all the windows, create a super-insulated and air-tight envelope, install high-efficiency VRF air source heat pumps to provide heating and cooling, as well as energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) to provide fresh air into all units.
Next up, Haycon will start work on Building B this summer!
